Fundraising for Schools - 5 Effective Ways to Successfully Fundraise
Fundraising for schools can be challenging in Australia. However, there are fun and effective ways to make it a successful event. Fundraising doesn't have to be boring; you can easily make your event entertaining. Creativity is everything when it comes to fundraising. Although there are many different types of fund raisers that you can conduct, here are a few of the top suggestions that really work well.
1. Australian Bake Sale - One of the ways to conduct successful fundraising for schools is to use bake sales. Bake sales have been proven to generate a lot of cash time and time again. Why? Simply because a lot of people love sweets. In today's rapidly growing world, there are a lot of people out there with a sweet tooth who will quickly buy from a bake sale. As such, running a bake sale with your high school can easily generate some quick cash for your fundraising need. You can offer sweets like chocolate chip cookies, Rice Krispy squares, and chocolate covered muffins. These have been known to sell well at bake sales.
2. Chocolate bar selling - another popular way to fundraise is to sell chocolate bars. What you do is give each child a box of chocolate bars so that they can sell it to their family or church to generate some cash. Sometimes children even give the boxes to their parents to take it to work with him so that they can sell them to their coworkers. From past experience, the children who have implemented this stragedy have been known to sell anywhere from 20 to 50 boxes of chocolates.
3. Car wash - Fundraising for schools can be effectively achieved through carwashes. The way to set it up is to rent a public place in Australia. A place that a lot of people go to or passed by. Next, what you want to do is to offer to wash people's cars for $10. Then create advertisement boards and different sorts of ads so that people know exactly what service your high school is offering. You will find that a lot of people will come to get their cars washed.

Lastly, what you want to keep in mind with these fundraising events is to try to arrange them so that they fall on busy days. Days in Australian calendar such as Australia Day and Anzac Day prove to be days where a lot of people come out to participate. This will be a good target for your fundraising ideas. Fundraising for schools will be effective when you follow these strategies.

No More Candy in Sports Fundraising

No More Candy in Sports Fundraising by S. Ferguson

If you've said "not another candy drive" and instead are seeking new ideas for Sports Fundraising here is a unique spin on bringing in money for your team.
No matter how much its needed parents dread the time fundraising rolls around; not that we're not into the whole team spirit but between all the similar youth fundraising needs, like school and church you really run out of people to hit up for more money. To keep the sales drive fun you have to switch up the routine, not to mention the items you're promoting. I mean who wants to continuously buy chocolate year round?
A quick promotable item to use for your sports fundraising needs is the scratch off ticket. It's different and it's affordable to take advantage of and easier to sell than the usual candy and pizza drive.
Parents find these scratch-off tickets easy to sell because it works more like a lottery game. You scratch off the ticket and see what you've won, like an instant game. Your team can come up with a set of prizes and one of the scratch-offs can be the "grand prize winner".
Another great idea one youth team used for their sports fundraising needs was the scratch-off tickets combined with movie night for kids. What an outcome!
Parents held movie night at a local school, advertising a previously shown movie that was approved by the school board.
"Winners Announced at Friday's Movie Night"
This is where they would announce the biggest winners of the scratch off tickets. There was no charge for the admission, of course, but they sold hot dogs, popcorn, candy, chips and beverages. The sports team made a few hundred dollars that night combined with the money made from the scratch off tickets. It all began with a unique sports fundraising idea of scratch off tickets that were combined with a movie night to bring in the most funds!
There are so many clever ways to use these scratch off tickets and believe me, people appreciate buying something quick and fun instead of the same old candy. You can also focus your scratch offs around specific holidays like Valentines or Easter.
Another great way your sports fundraising initiative can be utilized is by securing a sponsorship. Ask local vendors to sponsor your team for a certain amount of money then discuss with them a way to market their sponsorship with the scratch offs. For example, if you garner a sponsorship from a local gas station for $500 you could use the scratch-offs for "free gas" prizes. Definitely a big seller!
Or perhaps you get a small sponsorship from a local restaurant. You could offer a lunch or dinner worth X amount of dollars and one lucky scratch off winner would be the lucky prize holder.
Scratch offs are nothing new and many businesses use them from car dealerships to bingo halls and your sports fundraising program could become a successful endeavor with a few new clever ideas.
